APA Students of the Month: Congrats to the following students –
Music – Congratulations to Judith Strand, our Music Student of the Month! Judith is in 3rd grade at Indian Community School. Her favorite subjects are Music and Math. She would like to be a singer, race car drive AND a chef when she grows up! A few of her favorite things are cupcakes, cheeseburgers and the color purple. She also enjoys using the app Sandbox. Her hero is her mom. Judith’s favorite style of music is singing and her favorite instrument to play is the piano. Her favorite genre of music is pop and her favorite artist is Megan Trainor. Currently her favorite song is Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys. Judith has been taking lessons at APA for 2 years. Judith was nominated by Miss Tess. Judith has shown her ability to multitask and practice not one instrument this semester, but two! She has done well this semester in improving and practicing both piano and voice. Judith’s ability to read music has improved greatly and she always shows up to class with a smile and great attitude!
Recreational Dancer – Congratulations to Sierra Petersen, our January Recreational Dancer of the month. Sierra is in 7th grade at Oak Creek East Middle School where her favorite subject is Language Arts. Her favorite color is green. She hopes to become an architect when she grows up. Sierra’s favorite food is lasagna, her favorite dessert is apple pie. Sierra has been dancing with APA for 10 years and her favorite style of dance is Jazz and Contemporary. Her favorite dancer memory was performing last year’s Jazz dance at the December Showcase. Miss Amy says she is a strong leader in class and sets a good example, by encouraging other students to try their best. She is polite and a good listener. She pushes herself to improve during every class. She knows her dances and she always comes to class dressed in appropriate dancewear with a smile to share with everyone. Congratulations Sierra!!
Team Dancer – Congratulations to Ellie Santi, our Team Dancer of the month! Ellie is in 7th grade at Oak Creek East Middle School where her favorite subject is Language Arts. She hopes to become a veterinarian when she is older. Ellie’s favorite color is blue. Ellie’s favorite dessert is Kringle and her favorite food is salad. She enjoys using the Snapchat app. Ellie would love to travel to Bora Bora and maybe take her personal hero, her grandma. Ellie has been dancing at APA and has been on Teams with APA for 10 years! Her favorite style of dance is Hip Hop. Her favorite memory from dance is when she perfected her aerial. Dance has helped Ellie become more social and make lifelong friendships. Miss Alyse and Miss Jessie nominated Ellie and they say that Ellie goes above and beyond when in class and outside of class, and that Ellie is a hard worker who always comes to class prepared and with a positive attitude. Ellie is always willing to help whether it’s helping tie a younger student’s shoe when assisting or helping a classmate catch the steps. We love the encouragement from her and the pep in her step. Ellie has joined two new Teams this year and we are so proud of her. She is a great asset to our program and also a great Team assistant. Keep up the good work Ellie. Your positivity and your help don’t go unnoticed. Congratulations Ellie!!

Spring Dance Showcase Information –
Showcase days are: Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th
Showcase Costumes: We use the same costumes from our Winter show for our Spring show. If you are transferring classes and the new class does not use the same costume, you will need to purchase a new costume.
NEW STUDENTS: If you would like to participate, please contact the front desk immediately for details!
Showcase Routines: Each class will be working on their new dance starting in mid-February. They will still be working on technique, across the floor combinations, jumps and turns. If your child is not participating in our Spring show, they will still learn the dance, and will strategically be placed in formations so we do not have any gaps during the performance.
You will be able to videotape the dance to practice at home during Parent Observation Week (May 6th – May 11th)!
Please remember it is very hard for us to get siblings to perform together. We were able to get a lot of siblings together for our Winter Showcase this year, however, there was a show that sold out and we were not able to accommodate all family members that wanted to attend. Because of this, we will not be able to accommodate as many siblings in the future. We run an enrollment report of families that register prior to June 15th and try to accommodate these families in the order that you register.
