Hi Everyone! We hope your child has settled into their class(es) by now, but most importantly we hope they are enjoying them! Our biggest priority is that your child is finding value and learning in class, but having fun at the same time! Being a part of APA, we want your child to experience MORE than just great arts education. We don’t just teach kids to be great at the arts, we teach the arts to make great kids!

Calling ALL Girl Scouts!

Girl Scout Troops can earn their dance or music badge at APA!!! Is your student, or someone you know, apart of a Girl Scout Troop looking for fun group activities and new badges to earn? Troops can earn their dance or music badge by participating in an hour-long sampler dance class or music class! Click the link below to share or sign up!
Multiple slots for dance or music are available on October 7th in Franklin, and October 14th in Oak Creek! Please share this with anyone you that is in a Girl Scout Troop!
Optional APA Kringle Fundraiser:

Order forms are due Monday, October 2nd
Order Form Due: Monday, October 2nd. Wherever you drop off your form is where you need to pick up your orders!
Please make sure you have everyone make out the check to you, and you need to make one check out to APA. We will not order your fundraiser without payment. Profits will be in your account before October 15th and will be deducted off your tuition unless you purchase something before this date.

Halloween Spirit Week + APA Spooktacular Costume Contest!

Monday, October 30th-Saturday, November 4th: Have your student come to class dressed up for Halloween Spirit Week! Students are allowed to wear costumes as long as they can easily remove their costumes if they need to use the restroom during class time.
Spooktacular Costume Contest: Entries Due by November 5th – Winners Announced November 6th! Snap a picture of your student in the costume that they wear to Spirit Week OR their regular Halloween costume. Then share it on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #APAspooktacular. Two students will be randomly selected to win a big Halloween treat and a $10 APA credit!
Optional Cookie Decorating Class by Christine's Angelic Treats

Saturday, November 11th 1pm-3pm! Sign up for this class where you will learn how royal icing is colored and used to decorate cookies. You will learn how to make the various layers of colors and design. Each person will receive 6 cookies to decorate and take home. For anyone interested in this cookie decorating class, please visit the link below for more details and to sign up! The proceeds from this event goes directly towards our theatre department.

Poms for Purchase:

Students enrolled in Poms classes are required to purchase their own poms to take to and from class for practice and also to perform in our recital. A set of poms is $30 – they may reuse poms from the previous year. To place an order, please see our front desk ASAP to make sure we have enough coming in since they are on back-order.
Dance Costumes for Winter & Spring Shows:
Costumes were automatically charged to your account on file on September 27th if you were registered prior to this date, unless you notified us otherwise. The deadline to purchase costumes for our Winter Showcase is Saturday, October 14th. Costumes are also based upon availability so if you wait too long to purchase, the item might not be available if it is not in stock. Delays have been occurring so we cannot guarantee if costumes will be available after this date.

Dance Recital Updates:
Our winter showcase will be held on Saturday, December 16th at the Oak Creek Performing Arts Center. Showcase times are available on our website. Our Spring Showcase will be on Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th.

APA Vocal Performance at Oak Creek’s Fall Fest:
Come support your fellow APA vocalists at their performance on Oct. 21st at 11am at Oak Creek’s Fall Fest in Drexel Town Square! Our NEW advanced vocal group, APA All-Star Performers, Musical Theatre groups, Glee, and select vocalists will be featured!
Drama & Musical Theatre Showcase Performance
Saturday, November 4th @ 6pm at South Milwaukee PAC: A showcase, separate from the APA Music Recital, where Drama, Musical Theatre, and any Drama movement class students perform monologues, solos, and scenes.
Note: Musical Theatre group class students may have the option to perform at the APA music recital AND this showcase.
A dress rehearsal/photos will take place on Tuesday, October 31st from 5pm-8pm. This will be a ticketed event! Tickets will cost $12 per ticket and will go on sale on Monday, October 9th at 10am by visiting https://29869.danceticketing.com/.
Elf Jr Musical Tickets:

Come watch our APA students perform Elf Jr on Saturday, December 2nd or Sunday, December 3rd at 6pm! This is a ticketed event and will be held at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center. Tickets will cost $15 per ticket and will go on sale on Monday, October 9th at 10am below:
Music Recital Dates:
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, December 9th for our Winter Music Recital, and for Saturday, June 1st AND Sunday, June 2nd for our Spring Music Recital at the Franklin Saber Center. The exact times for the Dec. 9th Winter Music Recital will be emailed out to all APA music families on November 7th. Tickets will go on sale on November 14th at 9am online only. Ticketing links will be available in the November newsletter.

Purchasing Music Books:
When it is time to purchase music books for your private lesson, APA offers 2 easy options:
1.) We order your books for you. Your teacher will put in your book order through our music department. You will be charged a $3 service fee for this option.
2.) You can purchase books through another site or store of your choosing.
Music Lesson Makeup Policy / Snow Days:
Please make sure to read over APA’s music lesson makeup policy / snow days so you are informed of this process. Please click HERE to view the makeup policy.
Please remember that music lessons are charged each month for the amount of lessons scheduled for the month. For example, if your regular lesson is on Monday, and there are only 3 Mondays in the month you are only charged for 3; if there are 5 Mondays in the month, you are charged for 5.

Our monthly newsletter is emailed to APA families at the beginning of every month. It is also posted on our website at www.academywi.com/newsletters. Paper copies are available by request only at our front desk. IF you previously opted out of receiving any of our emails, you will NOT receive any new emails from us – including the newsletter. If you need assistance in opting back in to receive our emails, please contact our front desk.

There is a Member Log-in area on our website www.academywi.com where you can see what your account has been charged, enroll in classes, etc. Every family has their own account. Your username is the email address you gave us. If you need to update your email address, please contact us.
