Costs of classes depend on the specific course being taken, and the length. Please see our current registration schedule to view class costs. We bill on a month-to-month basis and charge a yearly registration fee.

Yes, we charge a yearly membership fee for students who are enrolled in our School Year Session. Due to the short duration of our Summer Session, there is not a membership fee associated.

APA will decide if we will remain open during a snow/ice storm. An email will be sent to all families by 3 pm if we decide to close Monday-Friday or by 8 am on Saturdays. To receive updates, weather closures, and delays, please opt in by texting APA to (414) 240-8458. Even if you agreed to texts at registration, you still need to opt in using the instructions above.

**IMPORTANT SNOW DAYS NOTE FOR PRIVATE MUSIC STUDENTS: Teachers will contact you if they will have Virtual Lessons, or if they will schedule an In-Person Makeup at a later date.

Students may receive up to 2 makeup lessons per semester, within the semester of absence (Fall, Spring, & Summer).

On any days that our APA facilities need to close due to inclement weather, all (group) students are allowed to attend any group class as a makeup.

Dance Questions

We offer; Acro, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Poms, Tap/Ballet Combos, Pre-Ballet, and Parent/Tot classes. Please view our schedule to see all available classes. Or click here to learn about the different styles of dance!

Boys are welcome to enroll in any of our dance classes!

We recommend you register for a class in your students’ age group based upon the style of dance they are interested in. If you are unsure of what that is, APA allows students to try their 1st class for free. If you already registered and your student is not happy after attending their 1st class, they can try a different class or we offer a money-back guarantee.

We do! Our Academy also offers Competitive Teams with auditions held in the spring for the following year.  Click here to learn more! If your student is interested, please email our Team Coordinator at [email protected] for details.

APA has a dress code for dance class students – see that here. We sell most dancewear items at APA! Ask our front desk staff what we have available.

If your dancer is performing in our optional Winter or Spring Showcases, they will have to purchase additional items. View our Showcase requirements here.

Students have the opportunity to perform in both our Winter and Spring Showcases.

Showcases/Recitals are optional and not a requirement for students to participate.

*Dance Costumes/tights are purchased in September and are used for BOTH Showcase performances.

Yes, we have one-way parent viewing windows, where the dancers cannot see you and be distracted. As well, we offer 3 Parent Observation Weeks throughout the year where we invite you right inside the classroom.

APA takes pride in hosting smaller group classes.  This means each child receives more attention, learns more and has more fun. Our small classes foster a welcoming atmosphere, comfort and security, fewer distractions and learning at an individual pace.

Each age group has a different class size:

  • Age 2-3 up to 8 students
  • Age 3-4 up to 12 students
  • Grades K-1st up 14 students
  • Grades 2nd-up 15 students

Music & Theatre Questions

We offer private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and violin. Please view our schedule to see all available classes.

Please visit our Music or Theatre registration pages for specific days and times.

Yes! In order for your child to progress in their learning, they will need to have their own instrument.

In most cases the minimum starting age is 5, but it also depends on the specific instrument and the child’s level of development.  All of our teachers at APA offer trial lessons to assess your child’s readiness if there is any question. Please contact our front desk staff at 414-769-0101 to schedule a trial.

YES!  We offer 2 optional Recitals each year: one in early December and one in early June. Students in group music & theatre classes also may perform at Recitals, and have other performance opportunities like Musicals & Plays! For more information on APA’s music recitals, click here. To see any of our upcoming theatre performances, click here.

APA requires at least a 12-hour notice for a student to be eligible for a makeup lesson. Please see our full makeup policy here.
