There are many events and activities happening this October that are perfect to bring in the season of Fall. First up is the Oak Creek Fall Festival. This event, happening October 21st from 9:00 a.m-4:00 p.m is perfect for families. There will be face painting, hayrides through Emerald Preserve, pumpkin decorating, a petting zoo, costume parades, and pony rides! There is something for everyone to enjoy! This festival is a great way to spend a beautiful fall day with your family in Drexel Town Square!
Next, there is the Franklin Library and Oak Creek Community Center Trunk or Treat. These events are perfect for families who want to get a head start on Halloween. Trunk or Treat is a free event where children can trick or treat in a safe and controlled environment. There will be candy, games, and prizes for everyone to enjoy. BONUS- Our APA Vocalist will be performing!
Franklin Library Trunk or Treat- Thursday, October 26th 5:00-7:30 p.m.
Oak Creek Trunk or Treat- Sunday, October 22nd 1:00 p.m-3:00 pm.
Another great fall activity is a day at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Every year, the Zoo hosts a Free Day happening October 7th from 9:30 a.m-4:30 p.m. This is a perfect opportunity to see all the animals and get some exercise with the whole family. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture all the special moments!
There is something special about spending a day at the farm in the fall. Head to the Elegant Farmer Kitchen, Bakery, Deli & Market for an all-in-one stop. Take a hayride, pick some apples in the orchard or a pumpkin from their local patch, and then indulge in some delicious treats at the on-site restaurant. This will be a day to remember!
Take in the fall colors! Head to one of our many amazing local parks and take in the beautiful views. Whether it be hiking or biking, there is no better way to experience the beauty of fall. Spend some quality time with your family while enjoying the great outdoors.Grant Park, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Wehr Nature Center, or Friends of Lakeshore State Park are just a few places that have amazing views!
Last but not least, The Milky Way Drive-In located in Franklin hosts Fright Nights! For the month of October, movies will range from family Halloween favorites to horrific horror flicks! Spend the evening getting in the spooky mood enjoying buttery popcorn, delicious treats and time with family!
