It is hard to believe that November is already here! We hope everyone who came to our Trunk or Treat had a blast! This month will be busy as we finalize and continue to work on our upcoming performance pieces. Please don’t forget that APA is closed for Thanksgiving break on Wednesday, November 27th-Sunday, December 1st. You can check out our calendar at the bottom of this email.

October Value: Age-Appropriate Classes
At APA and NSDS, we understand the importance of nurturing young students in a wholesome and supportive environment. That’s why we prioritize using age-appropriate costumes, choreography, and music across all our programs. This approach ensures that students can express themselves creatively while maintaining the respectfulness appropriate for their age group.

Cookie Decorating Classes!
Theatre Fundraiser – 2 Date Options OPEN!!!
An APA theatre department fundraiser Presented by Christine’s Angelic Treats! Sign up for this class where you will learn how royal icing is colored and used to decorate cookies. You will learn how to make the various layers of colors and design. Each person will receive 6 cookies to decorate and take home.
Dates & Themes to choose from:
– Saturday, November 16th @ 1:00-3:00 pm | APA Oak Creek | Thanksgiving/Fall Theme
– Friday, December 6th @ 6 :00-8:00 pm | APA Franklin | Christmas Cookie Theme
**Children ages 11 and under must be with parent and will count as 1 person. The cost is $35 is for parent/child attending, not per person. Students age 12+ may register on their own or with an adult @ $35/person.

Inside Out Dance Party!
Saturday, November 16th – Inside Out Dance Party
@ Next Step Dance Studio (sister studio)
12:30-1:30 pm| Cost: $25
Inside Out Dance Party for ages 3-9 includes a craft, games, and dancing! Join Joy, Sadness, and the rest of the emotions for this fun dance party! Dancers come in your favorite Inside Out-themed outfit or wear comfortable clothes that you can move in with socks or ballet shoes. Dancers will star in an end-of-the-camp performance that the parents can watch. Parents come into class the last 5 minutes of class for performance.

Student Absences:
Our winter music and dance recitals are coming up in December! If your student is missing a lot of classes prior to an upcoming performance, please make sure they are practicing at home. If a student does not know their music piece or dance routine, their teacher will ask that those students do not participate in the recital.
Poms are back In-Stock!
Students enrolled in Poms classes are required to purchase their own poms to take to and from class for practice and also to perform in our recital. A set of poms is $30 – they may reuse poms from the previous year. To place an order, please see our front desk.
Dancers Parent Observation Week:
November 11th – November 16th
We will allow parents to enter the classroom the last 15 minutes of class 11/11-11/16 to hear important updates from your teacher and watch students practice their dances. It will be standing-room only and we ask that only 1-2 spectators attend to limit the number of people in the classroom. If any spectators are feeling ill (coughing, sneezing etc.), we ask that you do not enter the classroom.
**If anyone wants to videotape their student’s dances, you can do this during the last 10 minutes.

How will this work? We will have 3 show times on Saturday, December 14th at 9am, 11:30am & 2pm. Each class will be assigned one performance time. Shows will run approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with a short intermission. All classes ages 4 and younger will perform before the intermission and are allowed to leave during the intermission if you feel your student is too young to last the whole show.
Do you have siblings in different showcases? Because of the inconvenience, APA will offer families who have siblings in different dance showcase times, 4 free tickets to your second show time. We will put a credit in your APA account for the value of 4 free standard tickets ($52) to deduct off future tuition. APA has over 700 dancers performing with multiple siblings so it is very difficult to schedule all siblings together. We accommodate families first based on the date you registered for our current session. Please email us if your siblings are not in the same show so we can verify and add the credit to your account.
Parent Volunteers Backstage: We are looking for parent volunteers to help us backstage assist younger classes. Volunteers do not have to purchase a ticket and can watch their child’s performance from the side stage. Siblings who are not performing are not allowed to be backstage.Parents are not allowed backstage unless they are an approved volunteer. We will send a volunteer email the week of the Showcase with final instructions.
