Fine Arts Preschool Newsletter – May 2018

Happy May everyone!

We are getting so close to our graduation.  As we come to an end we are already planning for next year.  Every year, we send out a survey after our program is over.  This is such a great way for you to leave us feedback.  We would love to hear everything…. good, bad, etc.  It is great to hear things you love, so we know to keep doing them, and it is crucial we hear about things you wish we changed.  We personally read every single survey and share them with the staff.  It is such a great way to make APA better every year. We appreciate you taking the time to fill this out for us. We know how many questions pop up this time of year, so please do not hesitate to call, email, or stop in. We are here to help and want to make sure you know what is coming up!

Preschool Graduation ~ Thursday, May 24th at Oak Creek Salvation Army
Oak Creek Salvation Army ~ 8853 S. Howell Ave. in Oak Creek (by Target)
Student Arrival: We ask that parents drop off students at 9am to practice before our ceremony starts. Please make sure students arrive with their cap and gown on and are ready to go by 8:40am. It is very important that they arrive on time since we want the students to have an opportunity to get used to the large space. It can be an overwhelming experience for some students so practicing helps them adjust to the setting. Cap suggestions: For girls, it is best to wear their hair down or in a low pony tail so the cap can stay on their head. Using bobby pins or clips also help both girls and boys.
Attire: In May, we have already handed out each students cap and gown for you to take home. Please keep all of the items together (cap & gown) and wear this to our graduation. We will hand out the tassels the day of. Please hang this up so it does not look wrinkled. You may have to pin the cap to your child’s head. A helpful tip is to have your child wear it around the house for a short amount of time and see if it moves. The kids tend to move around a lot while waiting for the ceremony to start. You can wear any attire underneath your gown!
Family & Friends Arrival: Doors will open at 9:20am. We will not allow parents to have a seat inside of the auditorium until this time because we do not want any distractions for the students when they are practicing. Please feel free to invite any family or friends to see your child receive their diploma.
Ceremony Starting Time: The ceremony will begin at 9:30am. There will be a short performance followed by the students receiving their diploma. We predict this would be over by 10:15am.
