Monthly Newsletter – September 2020

We hope you had a great summer and we are so excited that you will be joining us for our 16th year! Dance & Music Classes start the week of Tuesday, September 8th. We want you to settle into your classes as soon as possible. If you feel you are not in the appropriate class based on skill level, style, instrument, etc., please let us know! As long as there is an opening, we can transfer you to your desired class or you can add on additional classes.  We want to make sure you are in the right class and are enjoying yourself!  That is our first priority.  

Monthly Newsletters: At the beginning of each month we will email out our Newsletter and post it on our website (www.AcademyWI.com).    Our September Newsletter is the only Newsletter we print for our families since it contains a lot of important information. Paper copies are available by request only.  IF you previously opted out of receiving our emails, you will NOT receive any new emails from us.  If you need assistance in opting back in to receive our emails, please contact our front desk.

Member Accounts:  You can see what your account has been charged, enroll in classes, etc.  by going to our Member Log-In section on our website  www.academywi.com   Every family has their own account.   Your username is the email address you gave us.  If you need to update your email address, please contact us.   

Text Messaging:  In order to better relay important information to you, specifically for weather-related emergencies, please opt-in to receive text messages.  You’ll also be the first to know about Events and Special Offers!  Text ACADEMY to 77948 to join now.   

Referral Program:  Share us with a friend!  When a new family registers and mentions your name, you EACH will receive a $50 tuition voucher. The voucher will be mailed out after 2 months of paid enrollment and there is no limit to the number of families referred!

License Plate Winner: Congrats to license plate ADA 6123.  One of our staff members spotted your APA window sticker while driving!  Please contact the front desk so we know who you are and you will receive a $50 tuition credit.  To participate, grab a FREE APA window sticker at the desk!   

2020-2021 APA Calendar:  This year we will NOT print our school year calendar since things could change.  We will update you if we have to make any changes to our digital copy.  Please click HERE to view our  2020-2021 calendar.

Tuition Automatic Payments: Payments will occur on the 15th of every month starting with September 15th and your last payment will be on May 15th. Please remember we do not prorate tuition for months with fewer classes. This is a 10-month program that we divide into 10 equal payments no matter how many classes there are in a month.  Private lessons are charged per lesson in a month.

APA Logo Wear for Sale:  You can place orders from our online store from the 1st through the 10th of each month.  Because our opening week isn’t until September 8th, we will keep our store open until September 15th for this month only.  We do not have these items available at the studio. All orders will take 3-4 weeks after the store closing date and will be shipped for free to APA.  Please include your student’s name when ordering.  We will notify you when your items are available for pick-up.  Click here to order!

Music Students:  Students who are taking in-person lessons will receive a paper copy of our Music Welcome Letter.  For those students who are taking virtual lessons, please click HERE to read over our important details.

Optional Poms for Purchase:  We had a few parents inquire about purchasing Poms for their student to use at APA and at home since we are not using our APA poms.  We will send out options for those interested in purchasing in mid-September.

Dance Student Assistants: You may notice in our younger classes there is a Student Assistant along with our instructor. Larger classes will have a Student Assistant helping the instructor and the students. Our Student Assistants are ages 10 and older who are willing to help in these classes.  We would like to thank all of our Assistants for committing to our schedule for this year.

Dance Costumes Charged Friday, September 25th:  Female dancers will automatically be charged for costumes on Friday, September 25th using your account on file.  If your student will NOT be participating in our Winter or Spring Showcase, please let us know before Thursday, September 24th.  If you decide to order a costume at a later date, it is your responsibility to see our front desk to order this, if it is still available. Recreational costumes will be available to view online starting September 21st.

Dance Recital Updates 

We’ve recently talked with the South Milwaukee PAC, where our recitals are normally held, and they are currently open with limited capacity in their auditorium.  They are working closely with their health department to provide a safe environment for all events.  With that said, APA will keep monitoring our recital options in the next few months.  Regardless, we will offer some sort of performance option in the Winter if we can comply with the state guidelines.  This might not be an hour-long show with 800 seats sold, but we will still make this a special experience for your child.
