Music & Theatre Newsletter: November 2023

Hi Everyone! It is hard to believe that November is already here! This month will be a busy one, as we finalize and continue to work on our upcoming performance pieces. Please don’t forget that APA is closed for Thanksgiving break on Wednesday, November 22nd-Sunday, November 26th. You can check out our calendar at the bottom of this email.

Halloween Spirit Week + APA Spooktacular Costume Contest!

Monday, October 30th-Saturday, November 4th: Have your student come to class dressed up for Halloween Spirit Week! Students are allowed to wear costumes as long as they can easily remove their costumes if they need to use the restroom during class time.  
Spooktacular Costume Contest: Entries Due by November 5th – Winners Announced November 6th! Snap a picture of your student in the costume that they wear to Spirit Week OR their regular Halloween costume. Then share it on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #APAspooktacular. Two students will be randomly selected to win a big Halloween treat and a $10 APA credit!

Optional Cookie Decorating Class by Christine's Angelic Treats

Saturday, November 11th 1pm-3pm!  Sign up for this class where you will learn how royal icing is colored and used to decorate cookies. You will learn how to make the various layers of colors and design. Each person will receive 6 cookies to decorate and take home. This class is geared towards adults, but you can bring a child with to participate! *Children under 10 must be with a parent and will count as 1 person. Only 1 student under 10 per adult. No students under 6 please.*

Frozen Fun Dance Party!

@ Next Step Dance Studio (our new sister studio)!

Our Frozen party will be filled with intro to dance, crafts, themed prop, games and a princess dance.  Come dressed in your favorite Princess costume or wear comfortable clothes that you can move in with socks or ballet shoes. Dancers will star in an end of the camp performance that the parents can watch. Parents come into class the last 5 minutes of class for performance.

Student Absences

Our winter music and dance recitals are coming up in December! 

If your student is missing a lot of classes prior to an upcoming performance, please make sure they are practicing at home. If a student does not know their music piece or dance routine, their teacher will ask that those students do not participate in the recital.

Drama & Musical Theatre Showcase Performance

Saturday, November 4th @ 6pm at South Milwaukee PAC: A showcase, separate from the APA Music Recital, where Drama, Musical Theatre, and any Drama movement class students perform monologues, solos, and scenes.  

A dress rehearsal/photos will take place on Tuesday, October 31st from 5pm-8pm.  This will be a ticketed event! Tickets cost $12 per ticket and is now on sale for purchase at

Vocal Performance at the OC Community Center’s Tree Lighting:

Come meet Santa, enjoy some hot cocoa and cookies, and enjoy a performance by a select group of APA student vocal groups and soloists on Sunday, Nov. 26th at the Oak Creek Community Center!  This tree lighting event begins at 5 pm and APA’s vocal performance begins at 6pm.  We can’t wait to see you there!


Elf Jr Musical Tickets:

Come watch our APA students perform Elf Jr on Saturday, December 2nd or Sunday, December 3rd at 6pm.  This is a ticketed event and will be held at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center.  Tickets cost $15 per person and are now on sale for purchase at

Winter Music Recital:

As mentioned in the previous newsletters, APA’s Winter Music Recital will be held on Saturday, December 9th at the Saber Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin High School.

This will be an all-day event with acts starting at 9 am through 7 pm. The exact performance time for each student, performance order, and all other final recital details will be emailed out to our music families on Tuesday, Nov. 7th.  Tickets for the Winter Music Recital go on sale on November 14th at 9 am online only at

Spring Music Recital - SAVE THE DATES!

Please mark your calendars for our first-ever, 2-day Spring Music Recital on Saturday, June 1st AND Sunday, June 2nd at the Saber Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin High School.  More details to come as we get closer to the date.

Music Lesson Makeup Policy / Snow Days:

Please make sure to read over APA’s music lesson makeup policy / snow days so you are informed of this process.  Please click HERE to view the makeup policy.

Please remember that music lessons are charged each month for the amount of lessons scheduled for the month.  For example, if your regular lesson is on Monday, and there are only 3 Mondays in the month you are only charged for 3; if there are 5 Mondays in the month, you are charged for 5.

Important Reminders:


Grab a yard sign from the lobby at either location and place it in your yard, THEN take a photo and share it to your Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #APAproud!

We will pick a random winner each month who will receive a $50 tuition credit. Winners are announced on our social platforms, and we’ll contact you on your post! First come, first serve.

Monthly Newsletters:

Our monthly newsletter is emailed to APA families at the beginning of every month. It is also posted on our website at Paper copies are available by request only at our front desk. IF you previously opted out of receiving any of our emails, you will NOT receive any new emails from us – including the newsletter. If you need assistance in opting back in to receive our emails, please contact our front desk.

Text Messaging:
In order to better relay important information to you, specifically for weather-related emergencies, please opt-in to receive text messages. You’ll also be the first to know about events and

License Plate Winner:
Congrats to license plate 929-RHN. One of our staff members spotted your APA window sticker while driving!  Please contact the front desk so we know who you are and you will receive a $50 tuition credit.  To participate, grab a FREE APA window sticker at the desk!

Member Accounts:
There is a Member Log-in area on our website where you can see what your account has been charged, enroll in classes, etc. Every family has their own account.  Your username is the email address you gave us. If you need to update your email address, please contact us.

Referral Program:  
Share us with a friend! When a new family registers and mentions your name, you will EACH receive a $50 tuition credit. The credit will be automatically put into your APA account after the new family has paid for 2 months of enrollment. There is no limit to the number of families you can refer to APA!
