Take the Next Step in Dance: competitive Poms Auditions!

Spring is an exciting time at the studio, and for many dancers it marks the beginning of a new opportunity.  As dancers wrap up their recreational season and prepare for the Spring Showcase, many begin looking ahead to the next challenge in their dance journey. Our All-Star Poms teams offer dancers the opportunity to expand their training, perform more frequently, and become part of a close-knit team environment that encourages growth both inside and outside the studio.

Auditions for the upcoming season will be held April 18th, and we encourage both current APA families and new dancers interested in competitive dance to register. Whether your dancer is already part of our recreational program or is new to the Academy, auditions are a welcoming way to explore the next level of dance training!

What Is the All-Star Poms Program?

The All-Star Poms Program is designed for dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level in a structured, team-focused competitive environment. Dancers train consistently throughout the season, learning choreography that blends strong technique with performance quality, teamwork, and precision.

Our teams perform and compete at several events throughout the year, giving dancers valuable experience on stage and the opportunity to grow through feedback and collaboration. While the program introduces dancers to competition, the focus remains on building confident, well-rounded performers who support and uplift one another.

The Benefits of Joining an All-Star Team

Being part of an All-Star program offers so much more than additional dance classes. Dancers experience the excitement of performing alongside teammates who share the same passion for dance. They build lasting friendships and become part of a supportive community where encouragement and teamwork are celebrated.

Many families say that the relationships formed within the All-Star program become one of the most meaningful parts of their season. Dancers bond through rehearsals, performances, and shared goals, while parents often form friendships as they support their children throughout the year. It becomes a true team experience for the entire family.

The program also gives dancers the opportunity to develop stronger performance skills, increased confidence, and a deeper understanding of choreography and musicality. These experiences help dancers grow not only as performers but also as individuals.

A Higher Level of Commitment

With these opportunities comes a higher level of expectation. All-Star dancers are expected to demonstrate dedication, preparation, and a positive attitude toward their training and their teammates. Regular attendance, focus during rehearsals, and a commitment to improvement are important parts of being on a competitive team.

Dancers learn how to take responsibility for their role within a group performance and understand that every member of the team contributes to the overall success of the routine. This sense of accountability helps build maturity and pride in their work.

For many dancers, this structure becomes one of the most rewarding aspects of the program. It encourages them to challenge themselves and discover what they are capable of achieving.

What to Expect at Auditions

Auditions are designed to be a positive and encouraging experience for dancers. During the audition session, dancers will learn short combinations, demonstrate basic technique, and show their performance quality and teamwork skills. Our goal is not only to evaluate dancers’ abilities but also to see how they respond to learning new material and working together in a group environment.

For returning dancers who may have schedule conflicts or unavoidable commitments on the audition date, alternative evaluation opportunities may be available through observation in technique classes. Our goal is to ensure every interested dancer has the opportunity to be considered.

Register for Auditions Today

Our All-Star Poms Auditions take place April 18th, 11AM-1PM, Oak Creek location, and we strongly encourage families to register ahead of time to secure their dancer’s spot. Whether your dancer is ready to take their training to the next level or simply curious about the experience, auditions are a great opportunity to explore what the All-Star program has to offer.

This program continues to grow each season, and we are incredibly proud of the dancers who bring dedication, positivity, and passion to their teams.
