Top 5 Ways to Prepare for Winter Showcase

[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Winter Showcase is upon us and we are so EXCITED to celebrate another holiday season with our APA FAMILIES!

The hustle and bustle that this time of year brings make organization a necessity. Making lists, reminders to pick up last-minute presents, and preparing for holiday events can be difficult to manage without some helpful hints.

Showcase day is always a whirlwind of primping, pictures, and performing, which can seem overwhelming for even the most seasoned of dance families.

Taking time early to prepare for the day will make the difference!

We’ve created our Top 5 Ways to Prepare for the Winter Showcase to make certain that your dancer’s day is magical and yours is effortless.

Review our Winter Dance Performance Information

This can be found on our website in our Members Area or in our December Newsletter and has ALL the details you’ll need for Showcase day including information on our safety guidelines, performance days/times, purchasing tickets, and costume requirements. Arrival times and directions for dancer drop-off and traffic flow are also listed here to help families feel prepared and safe at all of our Showcases.

Our staff is FULLY prepared to create an amazing Showcase experience all while keeping our dancers and families safe and socially distanced. We have made a short video with detailed instructions for both spectators and dancers to enter and exit the PAC. The video also includes instructions for dancer drop off and pick-up arrival procedures, and what doors will be used for both entering and exiting the building.

Make a Checklist

There are so many things to remember to pack for Showcase day. Costume, hairpiece, tights, shoes, and not to mention the things needed for before and after the show – camera, flowers, TICKETS! The best thing we suggest is to make a checklist ahead of time. Prep all dance items needed for the Show the night before, so getting dressed and ready the day of the Show is effortless. Be sure to double-check your list before heading to the Show!

Double Check Performance Times

Always double check your performance times, especially if you have multiple dancers in separate Shows or your child performs in several Shows. Competitive students also need to be aware of their Showcase lineup. Dancers performing in multiple numbers should have their costumes laid out in order to help kiddos stay organized backstage.

Live-Streaming Of Your Dancers Show

If your family does not feel comfortable with family members attending in the audience – we have a live-streaming option available. This is a great option for loved ones unable to attend the in-person performance, but still, receive the LIVE show experience!   Please remember that this will not be a zoomed-in image on your child and will showcase all dancers on stage.  Students will also be wearing a mask on stage so dancers could be hard to identify.  The cost is $30 per household to have access to ALL of the Shows.

Be sure to check your email from 12/11/20 for the most up-to-date information!

We hope this helps your family have a great Showcase experience!
