We have such an exciting month coming up with lots of performances! Please make sure to read all of the information so you and your child are prepared for the upcoming events. We are looking forward to seeing our students perform this month!

Saturday, December 16th DANCE Lessons:
Any Saturday dance classes will NOT have class on Saturday, December 16th due to our Showcase. Music classes will run as normal on this date.

This gift card gives them a full month of group classes (classes must have openings only, up to $74 value) at no cost to them. All you need to do is write your name and theirs on the back of the gift card and give it to them. As you know, we have our music and dance recitals coming up this month!! If your student is missing a lot of classes prior to an upcoming performance, please make sure they are practicing at home. If a student does not know their music piece or dance routine, their teacher will ask that those students not participate in the recital and wait for our spring recital.
APA will decide if we will remain open during a snow/ice storm, or cold weather advisory. An email will be sent to all families by 3 pm if we decide to close Monday-Friday or by 8 am on Saturdays. PRIVATE MUSIC LESSON STUDENTS: please click HERE to view our makeup policy to see which music teachers will offer virtual lessons on snow days. To receive studio updates/reminders, weather closures, and delays, please opt in by texting the letters “APA” to (414) 240-8458. Cold Weather Reminder:
To aid in injury prevention, it is important that the dancer’s bodies are warm when they come to class. We recommend that students wear layers to and from dance class. Even though they may feel hot after dance class, it is important for their health to wear pants or leggings and a jacket.
Required Dance Costumes/Shoes:
Please check to make sure your dancer’s costume is ready to go for our in-class FULL dress rehearsal. Students MUST have the correct dance shoes for our performance. Please check with our front desk if you are unsure of what your dancer needs to wear.
Winter Showcase 2023 Details:
In-Class FULL Dance Dress Rehearsal:
Starting Saturday, December 9th – Friday, December 15th we will have our students come to their last regular class day/time AT APA before our Showcase in complete costume with hair and make-up done. This will help our teachers see if there are any costume or shoe issues before our performance.
Hair and make-up requirements can be found by visiting https://academywi.com/winter-dance-performances/ (please scroll down to FAQ section).
Winter Showcase 2023 Details
Our showcases are held at the NEW Oak Creek Performing Arts Center. All details including show times, arrival times, costume pictures, ticket sales, hair and makeup details can be found by visiting https://academywi.com/winter-dance-performances/.
***Performance Orders and Show Times time can be found on the same spreadsheet – scroll to the FAQ section of the Winter Showcase page, and select the Performance Times tab, then click the Showcase Index. There is a tab on the bottom of that spreadsheet called Performance Orders for you to view. If your student is enrolled in a combo class, we will list what style of dance they are performing when we announce our line-ups. In spring, students will perform both styles since they have more time to work on a 2nd routine.
Winter Dance Showcase Tickets: To purchase visit:
Do you have siblings in different showcases? Because of the inconvenience, APA will offer families who have siblings in different dance showcase times, 4 free tickets to your second show time. We will put a credit in your APA account for the value of 4 free standard tickets ($52) to deduct off future tuition. APA has over 700 dancers performing with multiple siblings so it is very difficult to schedule all siblings together. We accommodate families first based on the date you registered for our current session. Please email us if your siblings are not in the same show so we can verify and add the credit to your account.
Parent Volunteers Backstage: We are looking for parent volunteers to help us backstage assist younger classes. Volunteers do not have to purchase a ticket and can watch their child’s performance from the side stage. Siblings who are not performing are not allowed to be backstage.Parents are not allowed backstage unless they are an approved volunteer. We will send a volunteer email the week of the Showcase with final instructions. Sign up HERE!
Winter Music Recital:
As mentioned in the previous newsletters, APA’s Winter Music Recital will be held on Saturday, December 9th at the Saber Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin High School. This will be an all-day event with acts starting at 9 am through 5 pm. The exact performance time for each student, performance order, and all other final recital details were emailed out to our music families on Tuesday, Nov. 7th. Click HERE and scroll down to view all of our Performance FAQS on our website. Tickets can be purchased online only by visiting https://29869.danceticketing.com/
