APA Students of the Month –
Team Dancer: Grace Mensch – Congratulations to Grace Mensch, our Team Dancer of the Month. Grace is a freshman at Oak Creek High School, where her favorite subject is band. When she grows up she hopes to be a Veterinarian. Her favorite color is blue. Grace enjoys using the Spotify app. She loves cheesecake and cookie dough, and her favorite food is cheese. Grace’s hero is her mom! Grace has been dancing and competing with APA Teams for 8 years where her favorite styles of dance are Ballet and Contemporary. Her best dance memory was learning and performing her solo last year. Grace says dance has helped her become more confident in herself and helps relieve anxiety. Her dance teachers say Grace always comes to class with an open mind about improving and advancing in her training. She’s willing to take corrections and works to improve each and every day. She is very respectful to teachers, staff and other dancers. She’s a great role model for younger dancers in and out of the studio! Congratulations Grace!
Recreational Dancer: Natalie Razo – Congratulations to Natalie Razo, our Recreational Dancer of the Month. Natalie is in 4k at Rawson Elementary School in South Milwaukee. Her favorite thing to do in school is sing. Her favorite color is green. Natalie wants to be a Dentist when she grows up, which explains why her favorite app is the dentist app! Her favorite food is tacos and her favorite dessert is anything with chocolate. Natalie has been dancing at APA for one and a half years. Her favorite style of dance is Ballet. Her best memory of dance is dancing on the big stage for the first time at the Winter Showcase. Miss Amy nominated Natalie and said she is always ready to dance with a smile on her face. Natalie even beats me (Miss Amy) to the studio each week and greets me with a big hello when I get there. She is always properly dressed for class with her hair tied back. Natalie is a great listener; she tries hard, even when new steps are challenging, and remembers the material I’ve taught from week to week; including knowing all of the fancy French words we use in ballet! She is my “leader” in class – a student I can count on to follow directions! She is also polite and caring to the other girls in class. She was happy to be “friends” with all dancers and new enrollees. Natalie is a pure pleasure to teach!
Music Student: Eliana Lang – Congratulations Eliana Lang, our Music Student of the Month. Eliana is a freshman at Oak Creek High School, where her favorite subject is math. She hopes to be a Psychiatric Nurse when she is older. Eliana’s favorite food is Curious George Fruit Snacks and her favorite dessert is Ice Cream. Eliana’s personal hero is her mom. Eliana just started taking lessons this year at APA. Her favorite instrument to play is the Guitar. Her favorite artist is Billie Holiday and her favorite song is “Fine and Mellow”. Eliana has been nominated by Mr. Logan for her devotion to musical study and willingness to try new and difficult techniques on the Guitar. She has strong practice habits that have resulted in continuous growth as a musician. She has studied fingerpicking, classical technique, and jazz chords in the 5 months we have been working together. In addition to Guitar lessons, she also takes Voice with Mr. Alex and Jazz/ Contemporary dance with Miss Alyse.
