Monthly Newsletter – March 2020

As we are fast approaching the end of our school year, our newsletters are especially important.  Here are a few things to be aware of: 

ALL of our students will receive a FREE t-shirt in June! We will send out an email in mid-March asking you to proof your students name since they will all be listed on the back of the shirt.  Also, this email will provide parents a link to order and pay for a t-shirt if you would like one.  They are $20 plus tax, add $2 for 2XL or 3XL. T-shirts are unisex so they run bigger.

A NEW OPTION FOR 2020 – Parents can purchase this as a “Fan of T-shirt”. Since this shirt will be personalized on the back side the cost is $30.  It would NOT list the students’ names on the back but would say “Fan of (your student’s name). Parent t-shirts will be available for pick up the last week of dance classes in June at your location.  Please watch your emails for this! 

Spring Break for BOTH Locations:  APA will be closed Monday, March 23rd – Sunday, March 29th 
Classes will resume on Monday, March 30th!

Frozen Fun Kiddie Clinics: It’s not too late to dance with APA or add-on an additional class! APA is proud to announce our Frozen Fun Kiddie Clinics! Kiddie Clinic classes are 8-week long sessions that are offered for students ages 3 through grade 1 at both of our great locations. Kiddie Clinic class tuition includes a free pair of ballet shoes and all classes will perform on stage at our Spring Dance Showcase! Check out for full details and to register your child today!  

Dance Classes – Make-Up Class Cut-Off Date: March 15th, unless there is a class available that is taught by your same teacher with the same Showcase dance. It can be difficult for students to attend a class after this date because students have already started learning Showcase dances.  

Summer & Fall Class Request Survey (Dance Only): We recently sent out a survey asking what classes your student is interested in to help us create our schedule. Any feedback is helpful! If you have NOT completed the survey yet, you can click HERE
New Front Desk Employee Miss Katie will be taking over for Miss Bre starting March 1st.  Miss Bre will be subbing for us in the future so you may still see her around.  Our staff and families will miss her but we wish her the best!  Miss Katie has a daughter that has been dancing with APA for 12 years so she might be a familiar face to some of you.  Welcome to our APA Staff!!! 

Summer Classes Monday, July 6th- Saturday, August 15th:  Schedule and ONLINE ONLY registrations will begin April 1st.  Our summer session is 6 weeks long. Over the phone and in-person registration will be available starting Monday, April 6th.  Online registrations are our preferred method of registering so you can complete everything in full. Register early!  There’s less chance of your class being full or canceled due to low enrollment.  We need at least 5 students enrolled in each class.  ***Current music students will receive a separate email with priority registration of their current time slot. 

Fall Schedule:   Our Fall Schedule will be available in May! 

Competitive Team Auditions for 2020-2021 Teams:  Save the dates!!  Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, May 16th & Sunday, May 17th.  More details will be available April 1st.   If you and your child are interested in joining our Performance Teams and have specific questions, please email our Team Coordinator at [email protected] for more information!   

WFMC – Music Department Winners:  Congratulations to all of the 14 APA music students that performed in the Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs (WFMC) festival on Feb. 8th!  Each student was required to perform 2 pieces by memory in front of a judge.  Those that received a Superior rating can compete at the State Festival in May.  Great job to all of the following students: Gabe Hall, Riahn Jones, Avam Mishra, Aaditya Nair, Advaith Nair, Pranav Nair, Manan Shroff, Shivani Shroff, Ava Leger, Arin Jones, Caitlyn Jones, Lasya Madiraju, Kali Morgan, and Addison Martinez!! 

Music Spring Recital: Our Music Recital will be held on Sunday, June 14th at the Oak Creek Salvation Army starting at 1pm. Our students will begin to pick out their music later in the semester. Also, please feel free to talk to your teacher before or after class for a brief summary of what they are working on. 

License Plate Winner:  Congratulations to license plate 762-MPR. One of our staff members spotted your APA window sticker while driving!  Please contact the front desk to receive a $50 tuition credit.  To participate, grab a FREE window sticker at the desk!  
Logo Wear for Sale:  You can place orders from our online store from the 1st-10th of each month. We do not have these items available at the studio. All orders will take 3-4 weeks after the store closing date and will be shipped for free to APA.  We will notify you when your items are available for pick-up. Click here to order! 

Referral Program:  Share us with a friend!  When a new family registers and mentions your name, you EACH will receive a $50 tuition voucher. The voucher will be mailed out after 2 months of paid enrollment and there is no limit to the number of families that you can refer! 

DANCE ONLY – Spring Dance Showcase Information  

Showcase Times are available for recreational classes by clicking HERE!  We will have one show on Friday, June 19th and five shows on Saturday, June 20th.  Technique and Competitive classes will be announced in May before tickets go on sale. 
Rehearsal Times:  Rehearsals will be held at the South Milwaukee PAC on Tuesday, June 16th-Thursday, June 18th. 

Showcase Costumes:   We use the same costumes from our Winter Showcase for our Spring Showcase.  If you would like to participate in our Spring Showcase, a costume is required.  If you have not ordered a costume yet, please see the front desk ASAP to see if your costume is still available.  Our last group order was already placed.  If you are interested in ordering, please account for a $10 shipping fee. 

NEW STUDENTS:   If you would like to participate in our Spring Showcase, please contact the front desk immediately for costume ordering details.  A $10 shipping fee will apply if you purchase the costume after the February 15th deadline. 

Video of Recital Dance:  If you would like to record your child’s dance(s) for the Spring Showcase to practice at home please do this IN CLASS during Parent Observation Week, May 11th- May 16th.  APA will not be recording the class dances for the Showcase.

**Earn Tuition credit & possible FRONT ROW SEATS!  Students may sell Business Ads for the Spring Showcase Programs and earn tuition credit.  In addition, our top 2 winners will receive 2 or 4 FREE Front Row Showcase tickets for one show of their choice.  Click here to see the order forms to hand out to businesses.  Hurry– Deadline is April 1st.     

Showcase Routines: Now that we are getting closer to our June 19th and 20th Showcase, held at the South Milwaukee High School PAC, each class will be working on their new dance starting in mid-February. They will still be working on technique, across-the-floor combinations, jumps, and turns. If your child is not participating in our Show, they will still learn the dance, and will be strategically placed in formations so we do not have any gaps at the performance.

Please remember it is very hard for us to get siblings to perform together because we have 6 different Showcase times.  We run an enrollment report from families that register prior to June 15th and TRY to prioritize in the order that you register.
