Our biggest priority within the competitive program is helping dancers find value in hard work and a love for learning. Being a part of APA, we want your child to experience MORE than just great arts education.
We appreciate your patience as we transition our Team Coordinator & Dance Director roles. Both roles take on a lot of responsibility and training during our busiest month of the year can be difficult. Our staff has been doing an amazing job and we are so lucky to have them.

Required Virtual Team Parent Meeting: Thursday, October 8th @ 7pm (time changed). We will send out a Zoom link with an email reminder 2 days before the meeting. This meeting could last around 1 ½ hours. New Team families can stay on longer to ask questions at the end of the meeting.
Practicing at Home: All Competitive Team dancers are expected to be practicing at home. When the dancers learn something in class, we want them to review and memorize it at home so we can move faster in our classes.
Absence Form: If your dancer needs to miss any classes for any reason, please go to the Team website Absence Form. This will be checked every Monday morning. If the absence is not entered by Monday morning please still complete the form, but call as well so we can notify the teacher. To be considered for an excused absence please make sure to complete the form no later than 30 days prior to the absence. Click HERE for the form.
Contacting Team Coordinator: In this day and age we know it can be tempting to reach out to our Team Coordinator via Facebook, text, or phone calls. However, so we can have a record of these conversations, it is policy at APA that you only reach out via the Team email ([email protected]) or by calling the studio at 414.768.0101. Thank you for your understanding. Miss Alyssa’s current hours are Monday thru Thursday from 3:30-9pm & Saturdays from 9am-1:30pm.

Dance Showcase: Our Dance Showcase is set for Saturday, December 19th and Sunday, December 20th. Due to Covid – we will not release any details until November so we can monitor what restrictions will be set at the South Milwaukee PAC. Regardless, we will offer some sort of performance option in the Winter if we can comply with the state guidelines. This might not be an hour-long show with 800 seats sold, but we will still make this a special experience for your child.
Team Costumes: Our Team costumes will be revealed during their class time as costumes come in. This way the Team can view these together with their teacher. Students will immediately try these on when they come in. We will post on our Team Facebook when costumes come in and our teachers can live stream the reveal on their Zoom link if any parents want to watch. Our recreational and technique class costumes can be viewed by visiting https://academywi.com/winter-dance-performances/.
