Team Newsletter – February 2018
What a great start to the New Year! Congratulations to everyone on a successful Lakefront Dance Classic! We are looking forward to the great competitions we havecoming up in the next few months. Our next community event, the Easter Egg Hunt is coming up soon as well. I hope you can join us for this fun event!

Team lock-in event is February 16th and 17th and Parent meeting:
Details are outlined below.
- Parent Meeting in Oak Creek, starting at 7:30pm on February 16th – attendance or viewing is mandatory. We will be discussing the upcoming competitive season and what to expect at these events, where information will be, etc.
- Pre-Team: 6:30-8pm ONLY with Miss Jessie and Pre-Team assistants.
- All other teams: Arrive at 8pm
- What to bring: Pillow and sleeping bag or blankets, PJ’s, dance shoes (students will perform for each other): money for vending machine snacks (optional). PLEASE make sure your child brings a water bottle!
- APA will be providing soda, water and pizza when students arrive. Pre-Team will have juice boxes instead of soda. We will also provide muffins for the morning when students wake up.
- Activities for the night: Perform your routines for your fellow dancers, play games, watch a movie, and “sleep.”
- Production rehearsal is from 8-10am.
APA Student of the Month – Competitive Dance – Carra Kleczka: Carra always comes to class with a positive and upbeat attitude. She has been such an inspiring dancer to watch not only this year but over the years. She helps others in class, makes sure that everyone is included, and helps put a smile on her classmates‘ faces. Carra works hard to reach her goals in class and is an inspiration to others. Not only that, but she also sparkles and shines when performing on stage!! Way to go Carra, we are SO proud of the dancer you have become! Carra was nominated by all of her dance coaches.
NEW Adult 5-Week Tap Class: Miss Danielle will have a class on Saturdays at our Oak Creek location from 815am-9am starting 2/24-3/24. Cost for entire session: $62.50 non-member or $49 if you are currently an APA member. EARLY BIRD OPTION: register by Monday, February 5th and the cost is $40 for anyone who joins. Must register by 2/17. Tap shoes must be purchased and any work-out attire is acceptable. You do not have to purchase shoes from APA however, for your convenience, we sell them for $26.50 plus tax.

All reservations must be made via phone at (877) 253-5466. Please mention you are with the Showstopper Dance Convention, there is a small discount.
If you have not booked a hotel for the Dells for this weekend, please do so right away. There is also a very large car show in town that weekend and ALL hotels in the area are booking fast, if they haven’t booked already.
APA All Families Announcements:
“Spread the Love” APA Family and Staff Appreciation Week: We are so grateful to have you and your family as a part of the APA family. We’ve decided to celebrate our great parents/guardians, staff and students during the month of February! We’ll have special treats for our parents and students and we invite you to help celebrate our staff members by writing on a paper heart that we’ll hang in our lobby. Spring Dance Showcase Information – Showcase Times are available for recreational classes by clicking HERE! Only recreational dance classes have been announced. Technique and competitive classes will be announced in May before tickets go on sale.
Please remember this year we will have a competitive performance for ALL TEAMS on Sunday, June 10th at the South Milwaukee Middle School gym at 5:30pm. More information will become available in May.

Please remember it is very hard for us to get siblings to perform together because we have 6 different showcase times. We run an enrollment report from families that register prior to June 15th and TRY to prioritize in the order that you register.
Community Easter Egg Hunt: Join us for our Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th. This year’s event will be held exclusively at our Franklin location (10001 St Martins Rd). We will offer a fun Egg Hunt for ages, Walking to 8. We’ll also have the Easter Bunny here to visit with and take pictures! Admission to this event is just $3 per child and is open to the community so invite your friends and family. It is held 100% indoors so no need to worry about the weather! Logo Wear for Sale: You can place orders from our online store from the 1st-10th of each month. We do not have these items available at the studio. All orders will take 3-4 weeks after the store closing date and will be shipped for free to APA. We will notify you when your items are available for pick-up. Click here to order!
